This Wordpress Custom Notification plugin is my second creation after Floating Random Post MP3 Player Share Button Plugin. Stylish Floating Random Post MP3 Player + Share Button 4 Blogger

Few days ago I've released Floating Random Post MP3 Player Share Button Plugin for Wordpress, and now this widget also available for Blogger user. Basically this widget has a similar functionality with one for wordpress, but the difference is this blogger widget has no option panel so You'll have to hardcode the script manually. But do not worry about it, the installation is easy, even new blogger can do this within seconds.

All you have to do is to copy this widget script and add to your template. Click Template from your blogger dashboard » Edit HTML » Proceed, then append the script anywhere before </body></html>. To make sure the script is parsed correctly I suggest you to DOWNLOAD SCRIPT HERE, it has been tested and fully functional. Just save it as a plain text file (thewidgetname.txt). Change Widget Position

You can place the widget at the top or bottom, find this code:

Modify the Background Color

By default, you'll see the backround color is blue, find this code to change:

Simply replace the "blue" with your desired color. You can use popular color code like red, green, black and so on, oy you may also use hexadecimal code. Change the URL of MP3

The MP3 URL can be changed anytime you want, find this code:

That URL is pointing to one of my favorit music, Bombshell Blonde that belong to Owl City. Replace this URL with your favorit song's URL. Try to use MP3 URL from resume capability server for better Mp3 download.

Define Random Post Number

The default Random Post Number is 7, but sure you can define as you need it. Find this code:

Replace the "7" with any number up to 21 posts.

Activate AddThis Analytic Option

One of interesting stuff from Random Post MP3 Player + Share Button for Blogger widget is the share button. I like AddThis share button service, it has the share networks over 300 popular sites, and I guess this is the most complete so far. Besides, Addthis share button also comes with analytic option, so you can track how many shares have been made from your contents. Off course you'll have to be registered before you can use this service (It's totally free). If you are registered, find your publisher ID then insert it to this widget. Seek this:

Recently I've published one cool plugin named Random featured post, mp3 player + share button, the 3 in one plugin and this is the official page. * This plugin was created and has been tested in the latest php and mysql version. It's working fine using xampp 1.8.0, PHP Version 5.4.4, and PMA 3.5.2. If you find the random post not shows please check your server version.
* This version is stable, but I'm still developing this plugin. New feature will be added in the next version like allowing user to choose link background and analytic option for the add this button.
* CSS uses ob_gzhandler compression to minimize size and enhance the performance too, hope your server support it.

With these 6 ways to hide or cloak affiliate links/ URL you can multiply your affiliate number rapidly. The variations and different type of links will trigger visitors to click your links with no hesitate. Hiding URL with PHP is easy, simply create a php file with a plain text, name it as You like, ex: "hide-no-facts.php". Open the file and use the following codes:

The bold letters mean the hidden link, rename and use your own. To use it on a post, just locate where the "hide-no-facts.php" file is uploaded on your site or blog. Here is the illustraton:

3. Hiding Links with HTML
Redirect Hiding or cloaking links with HTML redirect works like the second way above (using php file). The difference is only on timing option before the redirection begun, while using PHP use no timing. This is how to use it, create a new HTM or HTML file then copy below codes:

Number 5 in code indicates the time before redirection started in seconds. Set the number as you wish or even set it to zero (0) so redirection will start directly. You may also want to remove the unnecessary codes and do not forget to replace the "http://www.intert3hmedia.net" with your desired link.

4. Hide Links and Analyze it with PHP Click Count
You can use this PHP Click Count CMS that does not require a database to hide your links. Well, the main function of this small CMS (20Kb only) is to count number of clicks, and more than that You can use it to hide affiliate links as well. The last but not least you are also able to show number of clicks on a post. Download the CMS here PHP Click Count. Example (see the download links!).

5. Hide Links/ URL with Simple CSS
Hiding links with CSS is easiest, this trick may be used by anyone eventhough You have no webhosting to keep any file, cos it need nothing. The trick is to add a little style on cursor to hide link address and replace it with title. Here's the style:

Normally You'll see the destination of a link in a browser's status bar, but if you use this style the address will not be visible and you'll see title instead.

6. Hide Link/ URL with Link Cloaker
Hiding Link/ URL with Link Cloaker is basically use an HTML Frameset with the hidden link parsed to HTML Code. To create one, open this link cloaker page, fill in the link detail and hit "submit". When the HTML code appears, copy the code to a new html file then upload it to your site host.

Limit Character of Wordpress Comment Author, URL, and Content

One of the best way to defend your site from spammers is to limit number of characters of Commenter's Name, Commenter URL and Comment contents. This trick can be useful since one of the most obvious sign of spam is the use of long characters in their spam comments. Now, you can apply this trick to your wordpress site and keep it free from spam.

Other benefit is, this character limit doesn't require plugin and this is absolutely important to keep your blog performance runs smooth, stable and always at the peak performance. Here, we're going to hack your wordpress engine by adding a little php codes. It needs only one step to apply this, just add the code below to wp-comment-post.php file.

Open your wp-comments-post.php file in your blog root directory. Find this code:

The code above may not be the same exactly, just find codes similar to it. Then copy the code below and put right after it.

You can then combine these two tricks (Characters limit and Manual Anti Spam) together to make your blog comment much safer from spam. Your blog now can filter commenters by serving math challenge that only human solvable as well as limiting their comment length.

Stop Post Stealing Using Simple CSS - Disable Text Selection

One unique way but easy to do to stop users from stealing your contents or posts can be done using CSS (Cascading Sylesheet). This trick can be useful to prevent "the irresponsible" users from copying, plagiating, and redistribute our original works/ ideas illegally. And furtherly stop them to continue doing so, hopefully.

There's a unique function of Cascading Stylesheet that disable user from using mouse selection function, which is actually can be helpful (see it on 7 useful things you never use with your mouse). This function called disable user select, to apply this add the following code to your Stylesheet:

The codes instruct your web browser not to use selection ability, you see all the user select are set to none. You may also add more codes of supported browser to make this trick more effective, or you can moderately choose user select variable as follow:

auto : user can select content of an element.
none : user can not select content.
text : user can only select text.

Please note, this disable user select trick works on CSS element where the code is put; as the example above, it uses the post and content classes. So user will not able to select or steal your content on those two element only. Be wise to use this CSS function as it really necessary, and do not forget to avoid using this disable user select on blockquotes, pre, or code. Otherwise, your visitor will not be able to copy those given code.
